Westhill Primary talk and Readings.

Westhill Community Library was the setting for a talk and readings for children from Westhill Primary. The children were a pleasure to spend time with and asked lots of really good questions.

Cultercullen Primary School.

I had a very enjoyable day at Cultercullen Primary reading poems and stories on the theme of Christmas and peace. I also shared some creative writing tips with the children who asked some really interesting and intelligent questions. Comments about the day to follow.

Christmas readings at Portsoy After-school Club.

The children at Portsoy After-school Club enjoy listening to the Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and other poems and stories.

I had a fantastic morning at New Deer with the children, mums and dads of St Kane's church pre-school group. The children were an absolute delight: they were so well-behaved and loved looking at all the colourful pop-up books and listening to the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Photographs to follow.

Pupils from Cultercullen Primary School enjoy a workshop at Meldrum Library.

Meldrum Library played host to a very enthusiastic group of P1-4s from Cultercullen Primary. We had a super workshop session on characterisation. The children picked up some tips on how to develop characters and then listened to some examples of good characterisation from two different children's books: Measle and the Wrathmonk by Ian Ogilvy and The Twits by Roald Dahl.

Some examples of the artwork and character bios inspired by our readings:
